Class Medical, an innovative leader in patient safety, today announced the appointment of Danny Forde as its new Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Forde, who joined Class Medical in August 2024 as Director of Business Development, brings a wealth of experience and a strong track record of driving growth and innovation within the medical device industry from his time at Bio-Medical Research, Atlantic Therapeutics, and Caldera Medical.

In addition to Mr. Forde’s appointment, Class Medical is pleased to welcome two distinguished new non-executive directors to its Board. Mary Corridan is a highly successful entrepreneur who developed HealthHarmonie into a leading community-based healthcare provider in the UK prior to its acquisition in 2024. David Kaysen joins the board with an extensive background as a medical device CEO and Board Member, possessing a deep understanding of the urology market in the US and globally. Outgoing CEO Kevin O’Shiel will continue to lead the Board as Chair, supported by Chief Technical Officer and Founder Dr. Rory Mooney, as the company positions the unique & patented Trans Urethral Catheter Safety Valve (TUCSV®) to become the standard of care for the insertion of indwelling urinary catheters.

"We are thrilled to have Danny step into the CEO role," said Kevin O’Shiel. "Since joining Class Medical, Danny has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to our mission. His passion for advancing patient safety during urinary catheterisation is precisely what Class Medical needs as we embark on our next chapter of growth. Furthermore, we are incredibly fortunate to welcome Mary Corridan and David Kaysen to our Board. Mary’s entrepreneurial success and unparalleled understanding of the NHS, coupled with David’s extensive experience in the US medical device and urology markets, will provide invaluable strategic guidance as we expand our reach and impact."

Commenting on his appointment, Danny Forde said, "I am honoured and excited to lead Class Medical at this pivotal time, as we build upon our unparallelled clinical provenance and outstanding health economics. I am deeply passionate about the innovative work we do and the potential of the TUCSV® to eliminate the risk of injury during catheterisation, reduce healthcare costs, and give clinicians confidence and peace of mind. With the continued guidance of our Chair Kevin and CTO & Founder Rory, and the addition of Mary and David’s strategic expertise to our Board, I am confident that Class Medical is well-positioned to achieve significant milestones in the years to come. Their collective experience will be instrumental as we focus on expanding access to the TUCSV® internationally and realize our vision of a world without catheter balloon injuries.”

Class Medical is committed to addressing the critical challenge of balloon injuries during catheterization through the development and commercialization of the unique TUCSV®. Such injuries frequently cause severe, debilitating patient complications and significant financial burdens for healthcare systems. This new leadership team is expected to expedite market penetration and commercial traction for the TUCSV®, enabling Class Medical to realize an ambitious growth strategy.
